What retro games have an Evil Dead/Army of Darkness feel to them? Aside from the usual suspects like Doom and Blood.

Completely unexpected.

Anyway do not forgot Blood, dare I say the name. While it is not directly related, much inspiration was taken from AoD as well as other pop horror fictions.

Any mature-rated western game made in the 90s, unironically. A lot of nerdy men were literally obsessed with pulp-horror and Bruce Campbell. And since older games were primarily developed by these nerdy types, you're going to find tons of games that exude the same pulpiness present in the Evil Dead trilogy, more or less. Army of Darkness was specifically pretty huge among DnD circles.

I love Douk but he doesn’t take much from the Evil Dead films.

Illbleed certainly has the kind of manic horror-comedy vibe you get with Evil Dead 2.

is this based on the original movie, or the sequel/remake? It uses the cover from the original film.

I never noticed it before, but Duke's pose in this is really similar to the poster in the OP.

I remember once hearing one or two people call Shadow Hearts something close to an Evil Dead + JRPG genre/tone fusion...not gotten around to playing them yet so I dunno if that's a retard schizo comparison or not.

Were there any overt or even veiled references to Evil Dead in the old Splatterhouse games? I can't remember.
