I hate the unlockables of resident evil games
I really like to get an A rank, but the reward is so shitty. It's always a rocket launcher or some op weapon.
I don't understand. I got A rank, I proved to you that I can be good at the game on my own, I don't need an op gun. Furthermore, a rocket launcher is so overpower that the game becomes boring. You kill everything in a hit, so what is the point?

The rocket launcher is strong but slow to the point where dogs or Hunters will get you before you can pull the trigger let alone aim. Most of the weapons in the games have some kind of drawback.

code veronica was the worst: to get a unlockable you need to get the S ranking(the hardest by far to get) and the only unlockable is a infinte rocket launcher(i expected more infinite weapons like a infinite submachine gun or a infinite magum).

when i finished resident evil remake i expected to get a infinite magnum like in resident evil director cut, but instead i only got a very weak infinite handgun and a special very fast zombie lurking everywhere that explodes if you touch it(what a great reward! and im being sarcastic!).

I had more fun with the infinite magnum than just about any other unlock in the series. RE3's infinite ammo is great too. It turns the mine thrower into a heat seeking headshot machine but you get it so late in the game that you don't get much mileage out of it. It's ridiculously fun while it lasts though.

Can it go through multiple enemies? I seem to remember using it on that narrow water path where either Hunters or a horde of zombies can spawn. I think I fired one round and watched it decapitate every zombie in front of me before it made a 90 degree turn and killed the ones waiting off screen.

yeah it can, at the start of the video you can see the mine explode onto the stairs behind the enemy (meaning it got through), and at 16secs you can see the mine going through the zombie and continuing on its way

You could also beat your brains out getting the highest ranking with each character in the Battle Game to unlock the plasma rifle thing. Which is only usable in the Battle Game when you're likely already completely sick of it at that point.

Generally the ranking system and unlocks are just a proof of skill and give the player the option for one last power trip.
It also makes it easier to examine late game areas and look at things you wouldn't typically look at I guess.
