>the right weight, size and grip
>cool looking
>the most precise of the console lightguns behind only the Guncon 2
>even games made for the Copenami lightgun that never had official support for it play better on the Guncon with fan patches
>successor for the PS2 was even more precise but the chad PS1 guncon was still compatible with most of those games
>Virtua Cop Elite Edition is one of the few PS2 games not compatible with it, probably because SEGA was still butthurt by the first Guncon who BTFO the Saturn offerings at the time
>arrived alongside a port of Time Crisis, one of the most soulful Namco games from the post 2D era
>lets you play the ultimate lightgun game trilogy: Point Blank
The only downside is the burger/euro version of the Guncon not being as cool looking as the original version, and CRTs not being made anymore because of the international LEDwery.
Post some cool peripherals that reach this level of goodness.

easy
Why was NAMCO so fucking good at peripherals and why didn't they do shit in the 6th gen?

I still feel bad for Burgers who never got to play Resident Evil: Survivor with their guncon.

I always see them shit talking Survivor, because without the light gun it's just a weird, clunky, and kinda shallow first person RE. There's basically zero reason to play it if you can't use the guncon as intended.

Playing it with the guncon was a totally different experience. It was actually quite ambitious for them to make a fully featured, player controlled RE instalment that you controlled with a light gun. It was a gimmick yes, but that doesn't matter, all light gun games are gimmicks- This one was and still is basically unique.

They could easily just have done a House of the Dead rip off, but they didn't. I would encourage any Burgers who still have a guncon to get a Euro/Jap copy try it out.

If it weren't for having one (1) game supporting its extra features then yes it would be the best peripheral

It was great when I was a kid, but as an adult, I find the distance between the trigger and the back of the grip is just too small to be comfortable for more than 30 minutes of play.

Now I'm curious about how big your hands are. I consider myself to have normal to large hands and I can't play GBC anymore without getting my hands cramped, but the Guncon seemed the perfect size for me.

Speaking of cool looking light guns, I love how the Zapper in its original Famicom iteration was a straight-up Colt SAA.

Okay then, let me say these guns has more weight thanks to its force feedback mechanics. Has the same precision, since it also has a composite passthrough. You can play the Virtua Cop, Time Crisis, and Point Blank games, so it has a lot of support. Clearly better in all aspects.

I never had much luck with non-official guns on flat screened CRTs, but to be honest I've only used crap like Lunar Guns and such. Maybe those work better with a regular CRT, I dunno, but the official Guncon does have great precision in my case.
Also I don't mind the lack of recoil but I always have the urge to pull the slide back on it for some reason.
