Woah holy fuck this can't be true...

You can restore the last deleted save from the bios menu with a button combo

>> No.8394972

I never had issues with people deleting my saves even when my brother/other kids shares my memory cards.

>> No.8395131

Why the fuck would an undelete feature be hidden behind what amounts to a cheat code? Talk about dumb.

Lies

>> No.8395165

>>8394856
If that's true, why the hell wasn't it documented?

Why have a useful feature be completely hidden?

>> No.8395174

>>8395165
so they can't be hold accountable when the feature fails.

>> No.8396545

Just put a disclaimer that this is for attempting disaster recovery and there is no reliable way to "undelete" a save.

If you think that's dumb, wait til you hear how to set Wii virtual console games to 240p output.

Haha wtf i just looked this up and you're not kidding

>Playing in 240p
>In order to play VC games in 240p, your Wii needs to be set to 480i mode. Then follow this procedure:

>1. Set your Wii to 480i mode (I had mine set to 4:3 as well…I’m not sure if that matters). This will not work in 480p mode.
2. Start a Virtual Console game.
>2. Press the Home button to bring up the Home menu, and then click on Operations Guide.
>3. Attach a Nunchuk controller to your Wii remote (if the classic controller is plugged in, you’ll have to remove it to do this).
>4. Press A+1+Z simultaneously (A and 1 are on your Wii remote, Z on your Nunchuk).
>5. You should hear a sound confirming that you’ve done this correctly. This should activate 240p mode for all VC games that are 240p-compatible.
>6. To switch to 480i mode for VC, follow the same steps as above, but press A+2+Z instead.

I bet the savegame isn't actually deleted, just the changed filesystem-block hasn't been written to the MC yet

>> No.8397556

>>8397525
That is exactly what is happening, deleting a save merely sets that part of the memory card to be writeable again so the data is still there unless it's been overwritten

>> No.8397918

>>8395131
Wasn't it in the manual?

>> No.8397948

>>8395165
It was only in the manual I guess to deter people from playing around with saves thinking 'I can just restore it', then fucking it up, losing the save forever and blaming Sony, you know how people are.

>>8394972
Me neither, thanks big bro.

>> No.8398125

Yes, I think when VC first launched, it defaulted some games to 240p, but we were all switching to flat panels at the time, and a number of them just didn't support 240p, so grandpa would boot up his Mario's and it would be a black screen.

So they decided only true nerds get 240p.

>> No.8398291

>>8396661
Nani the fuck...

>> No.8398321

>>8398125
I guess there's some logic behind hiding the option so people don't accidentally activate it and think they broke something but the non-stupid way to do this is one of those time delay features where it switches modes and gives you a prompt to press a button and if you don't it just switches back.

>> No.8399249

>>8395131
>>8396661
The reason these are buried is that they only want someone who very specifically knows what they are doing to use these functions so they don't have to answer help line calls about people who somehow fucked them up. They were probably not even confident they would work for all things they made in the future.

that's the way 240p usually works
