That something like Crysis technically satisfies the board criteria for retro, but something like the latest Ghosts n' Goblins doesn't, shows how clueless gamers are with categorisation and terminology.

The newest GnG is much closer to what the english word "retro" refers to. Whereas the way gamers use the word is in fact better described by the words "old" or "classic". And if you misuse the word in this manner, don't be surprised when stuff like Crysis has eventually become old, despite your hypocritical aversion to the borderline dates being moved forward.

>Boys, what made Flash so soulfull?
It was so many things. There wasn't really a standardization or a commercial outlook, so it was just random kids (and sometimes grown artists) pouring their heart out into a program and just putting in whatever the hell they thought was cool. Most sites were small enough that you didn't really have to compete with popular shit and dilute your vision to get known. And behind every site, there was a community willing to make more shit.

It was just enthusiasts doing what they loved, with minimal outside pressure. Mobile game shit kind of derailed that.

I like the two snow levels in Goldenye a lot. Large open areas and closed interiors made for good sniping and close combat. Also it was spooky with good music and enemies would chase you from all over the huge levels so it was tough too on harder difficulties.

PS2 is the platform. Slim is just a hardware revision.
In fact there's no such thing as "slim", it's better to refer to them by the identifier code of that series.
You could argue 90000 series is too modern but the slims of the 70000 series are still a miniaturized 50000.
