I do this mostly through the Steam Link app. The advantage is that I don’t need to worry about Android emulation, because my PC can run anything. Also, you can build your own touch controls, complete with macro buttons, or use just about any controller that can connect to Android. It’s really only limited by the network, which is less of a problem than you might think.

I don't get the appeal of Android emulation, it's full of ads and touch screen controls are dog shit. If you want portable emulation your best bet is to use a 3DS/Switch/Vita/PSP with custom firmware or get one of those retro portable consoles. But for me, I think the PC is the best way to use emulation, it's the most powerful and connecting an xbox controller is automatic.

tl;dr Android emulators are zoomie poorfag retardshit and you should feel bad for using them, you're the lowest of low if you use them.

I thought I would never get used to touchscreen controls, but after emulating Fire Emblem and other turn based RPGs, I got the muscle memory down and it's really not so bad. I just beat DKC3 and I'm now playing Megaman Battle Network 5.

Obviously, a lot of games that require a lot of precise inputs aren't worth suffering through, but there are hundreds that work well. Especially DS games.

It's super convenient to play a little vidya in public without needing a controller. Retroarch is really great for emulation too, since you can keep your onscreen button layout the same between consoles, so your muscle memory transfers. pic related is actually pretty good.
sticks are oem vita ones with the same precision, very sensitive but without L3/R3 buttons.
the buttons are responsive as you may expect from any good controller, as the sticks don't click, you have 2 extra buttons with that functionality, so you don't have less buttons. triggers are buttons, so no analog.
it needs an app to change modes between regular controller and touch emulation, it can emulate touchscreen without the need of special permissions, the controller itself emulates the touch presses.
touch emulation is very complete with lots of options, it's great. I've been using it to play gemshin and works perfectly.
is has charge passthru and a 3.5mm jack for audio, something that even the kishi lacks.
you can get it for around $35. much cheaper than the competition.
