P5 (as in 5 fingers, GET IT?) glove controller thingie.
Move the hand to control the mouse pointer and make a clicking motion with your finger to click. THE FUTURE IS NOW PEOPLE!
if it worked... It uses some kind of reciever to detect the glove's position and it barely works.
Funny to see all those "mouse replacement" devices that were sold during that experimental phase though. Because who would not love to move his whole damn hand around to move the cursor and do a clicking motion instead of moving the mouse 2cm to the side and simply click the damn button...

If it worked yeah it kinda would be.
Definitely a gimmick but has a coolness factor to it.
While they definitely counted on the thing evoking the thought of it letting you sit there at your virtual holo-screen and point at the things you wanna click like in SciFi movies, it was also advertised for new gaming experiences. You could use it in a FPS to look around then it would let you do a pistol motion and pull the virtual trigger to fire. Badass.
Unfortunately position reception doesn't work well enough so it's no fun to use.

If it weren't for the RROD, Microsoft would have gotten sued for those shitty sticks.

Yeah, desu I had actually experienced the same several times as well. Similarly with the Series X controller after about four months – just sent it in to MS. The Tomb Raider one lasted way longer but it was probably luck of the draw rather than anything particularly special about it. Even 8 years probably isn't that impressive.

Got two of these for my NES. It's thicker than a regular NES controller, and a lot more comfortable to hold as a result.

>> No.8341309

I'd prefer the controller work 100% until a few months in then 40% of the buttons die. One of the analog sticks pops off and you're left with a greasy hole and the only way to stop it from leaking out is to plug the stick back in but it will never work again.
The lights on the controller suddenly turn a vibrant red warning you not to go near it.
