How were you supposed to know? This is Zelda NES bush burning tier bullshit.

Zoomerproofing wan't really a priority until some years later.

>> No.8314452

You get two special items from exploring that go together. They TELL you to wear them in the clock tower. There's only two locations it could possibly be talking about. The Clock Tower area, and here. Once you've been everywhere in the clock tower with both rings on, that only leaves this place. How retarded do you have to be to not READ the in-game item descriptions?

Stop whining about a game you obviously have a walkthrough in the background for.

I wouldn't need the walkthrough and I wouldn't be bitching if it wasn't a bullshit moment. And by the way it's not about the ending but just accessing the colosseum. I wasted 2 hours looking for bat form just to discover that you were supposed to wait™ in that one room for that one statue that looks like background to move.

>>8314483
>I never walked through that room and had the statue move out of my way
That fucking statue moved about 8 times during my travels through the room before I even thought to try to jump up there. Try exploring instead of following a walkthrough?

>>8314512
I haven't though, the game was too easy to make progress in to use a walkthrough, it's not something I usually do anyway, and even If I wanted the one time I tried to look for where to go next it was confusing as fuck and would have lead me to the wrong place. I legit passed by that room and assumed you needed the bat form to do anything in it and then got stuck for 2 hours despite passing by a few times. Remind me what's the proper way to solve it again?

>> No.8314538

>>8314452
maybe he's talking about the upper left passage that leads to Orlox's quarters. It's easy to forget about because you won't have the double jump the first time you're there and then after it seems to open and close at random so the next time you're there with the double jump it might be closed off with no obvious clue how to open it.

Yeah, in the end all you have to do is walk on an offscreen until it opens up but aside from it moving the first time you walk into that room there's no hint at all and that first time happens to coincide with a Maria appearance so you might not be paying attention to the background. It took me a while to figure it out the first time

Sometimes things in games can actually just be flawed and there isn't any need to try and make your dick look big by saying you figured it out when you were five

It's always like this. It's impossible to actually criticize any moment like this in a game because you faggots are unwilling to actually engage with the subject. All you want to do is jerk off over how smart you are and how stupid other people are. You don't even look at the situation to see if they could have a point. It's irrelevant compared to pointless dick measuring contests and trying to look cool by agreeing with the hivemind about [insert approved retro game here] having no flaws.

Nobody in the history of humanity to this point has gotten stuck in that point of the game, so it's incredibly stupid to do so and worthy of attention. In fact, I think you're actually baiting and trying to force a meme like the Super Metroid tube for shitposting purposes in the future.

>—What is the max percentage you can get on the map?

>Igarashi: It’s actually 200.6%. If you uncover the entire castle it’s 100%, and the inverted castle also has 100% (plus the underground waterway part for the extra .6%). We set the normal castle completion at 100% so as to put one “endpoint” to the game’s progression. What we were thinking is that people wouldn’t defeat Dracula on their very first playthrough; we wanted them to defeat Richter once. Then, after feeling like they’d beat Richter and cleared the game, they’d decide to aim for 100% completion in the normal castle and uncover all the places they didn’t get to; in doing so they’d discover the inverted castle and feel like they’d found something special. When players defeated Richter, we wanted them to be wondering, “What happened to Death? What about all of Alucard’s stolen equipment?”

Looking at it, I think OP is referring to the left statue being on a timer of every other minute. I believe it's designed to move after the first cutscene with Maria ends >>8315290 like this anon says, though I admit when I first played SotN back then that it moved at all left my mind by time I got the double jump to go back and check for it.

you can get it to move using the clock, that's how I did it anyway

Secrets are not supposed to be easily discovered. The whole point of secrets is that you miss a lot of them. This way, discovering them becomes all the more rewarding. Some games use secrets for replayability purposes, while some use them to create challenge: you're meant to miss or misunderstand them for a while until you apply yourself and figure it out, which is rewarding.
Any other questions, junior?

The rings say to wear them in the clock tower.
It's right in their description.

At least bring up something actually obscure like the Beryl Circlet. (but then Galamoth can be beat without cheesing him)

I’m still not sure why that statue moves, I assume it’s just based on some sort of clock.

It is. Literally every other minute. You see it move in the cutscene with Maria. All OP had to do was sit there and think for a minute and it would already be open. Instead he rushed to a walkthrough since zoom zoom.

This is making a load of assumptions on the player which is horrendous game design.
