its easier than FFT, you can start with it if you never played a strategy rpg I guess.

Literally the only Final Fantasy game I've played besides XIV, it's a damn good game though once you get to the part of the game where the "judge" system gets introduced it gets really divisive to the point where there are ROM hacks that opt to remove said system.

It's really not that bad, it's like a couple spells or skills you can't use that cycle, I think eventually it gets to be a few but by then you can customize it with cards, removing laws you dislike and even adding your own. Just avoid what's illegal, and if it's really issue allow time to pass until the laws change which can be done in a matter of moments real-time. The American localization even toned down possible things that could be illegal, making it even more manageable.

100% great game. I probably have over 1000 hours.

Yes, game good. It's a comfy version of original tactics. Much simplified, but still have some fun build variety and bullshit skills/combinations, like making your unit completely immune to a particular attack type. Playing to enemy's strengths and weaknesses while obeying the extra judge rules is also very fun, and thats like half of the game.

Yes, it is. Final Fantasy Tactics on the PSX is very good, FFTA for the GBA is also great, but not quite as epic in scope as the PlayStation game. The sequel for the DS was seriously meh though. Anyway, yeah anon, good game - also has a silly twist at the end where the protagonist could be considered an antagonist, plenty of memes have been made over the years because of this shit, but I'm not gonna spoil it just in case you haven't seen them.

How come? It had more content and no retarded laws.

Didn't enjoy it story-wise G and I'm one of the few people who actually enjoyed the law system. Spritework was good though, as always, I'll give them that.

am I the only one who liked the laws?
it made the game way more challenging and fun

No, you aren't. I dislike how laws are a slap on the wrist in TA2. I still follow them fanatically, but there probably will be a point when I just decide on screwing it.

I also liked how fucked up the archery in TA was, I don't think it's even possible to hit other tiles/characters by mistake in TA2.

That twist is blown out of proportion by smooth brains.
The villain took people's lives away and forced people he didn't like I to shit situations while he gave himself everything. The hero did nothing wrong by giving the little shit a reality check.
If you, or anyone else, disagrees with this: you're cut from the same cloth as the villain and would be as much of a spoiled asshole in the same situation. You aren't the good guy

i got Hybrid Theory and Meteora both that year so i'd listen to one CD and then pop in the other one. i started getting more into Korn after they released Meteora and went on that multi-year hiatus and was never really into them after that. i feel like they were trying to hard to be U2 or something.

In theory but when you’re fighting a team of monsters and the law is not to damage monsters that’s some shit

Forcing the entire world to change against the will of everyone in it, including every single person besides you who knows what it was like before and using violence to enforce your will is 100 fucking percent badguy shit. Mewt is a shit and Marche is a shit

It's possible but I've only seen it happen on mountain maps where your target is so high/low the arrow shoots almost straight upwards.

>>8281896
You can check the law before starting the quest and if it's some complete bullshit, just walk around the map until it changes. They're not set in stone like in 2.

>> No.8282180

It's very fun, but pretty grindy. Unlocking abilities takes a ton of time and you need to "find" the right equipment first to even be able to learn an ability in the first place.

>> No.8282825

>>8281372
It's got a good story and cast. The mechanics are the worst of the three, but still better than any mainline Final Fantasy apart from 5. You'll have fun, probably a lot of it. Just don't know why you'd start here.

>> No.8282851

>>8281759
TA2's laws should be followed because the game can end up starving you for the materials and equipment that the law bonus guarantees, stunting your class progression especially early on. Loot drops to get non-auction abilities can hose you in A2 if you don't follow the laws. In the postgame challenge battles you also benefit from being able to revive everyone at will with Phoenix - you cannot revive anyone if the law is broken.

it's ok. it's a tactics game for kids. one of the better final fantasy games honestly
