Did you put the neogeo.zip in your rom directory? It contains the bios which is required to run any game.

Metal Slug Anthology on PS2 has input lag out the ass, it's unplayable garbage. The only decent console version of Metal Slug Anthology is the JP Wii version (Metal Slug Complete).

MS1 > 3 > 6 > 2 > 5/4 > 7

MS6 is better than 2 because the characters have unique mechanics that improve gameplay. 7 has even more mechanics but is poorly designed. 5/4 occupy the same space because they have similar problems, the dash and that other mechanic don't add anything to the game and the design is poor.

MS1 pcb is cheap, emulators perfectly emulate the original game and the new ports are good, but they don't have any extras.
