it's more hardcore in terms of combat and puzzle, which makes it more interesting imo. Some puzzles will make you scratch your head.

Story is more complicated than any Zelda too.

graphics music and atmosphere is great

Gameplay and story actually started out really slow, with me worrying I had purchased a mediocre game. But after the first hour or so of playing, it picks up tremendously and becomes a ton of fun.

Good Zelda clone? Maybe. Overrated as hell? Definitely. And its fandom is one of the worst I've ever met.
"Duh! Alundra is much better than Zelda. Zelda is crap.". Just like the Crash Team Racing fandom which believe that their favourite game is better than Mario Kart.

It's an amazing game in it's own right. While it has some similarities to Zelda, the gameplay and storyline are so dissimilar that I can't say I ever thought of it as a "clone". I remember just really enjoying the hell out of it, and the story really does get emotional at times. Doesn't shy away from death, that's for sure.

The jumping aspects make it feel different. Plus, who cares? That's like saying Doom is a Wolfenstein clone. They have major similarities, but one doesn't detract from the other. Alundra has an amazing story, much more of an RPG element than Zelda. They are both action RPGs, but Alundra is much more dialogue-heavy.

It's a good puzzle game it's definitely higher in difficulty than the average Zelda game but I see them as different entities. It was definitely one of the more fun PS1 games I've picked up in recent years. Was a nice play on my Vita.

Nope, I own it. There is no diagonal facing sprite art, and the movement is slower along the diagonal. LttP is like that, too, but at least Link actually moves, and the forward facing sprite scurrying diagonally is charming to me.
With a 32bit game like Alundra, having such great art elsewhere, that bit is pretty strange to me. Great game, like I said. But the controls do feel pretty clunky, and never as smooth as I hoped. Always made it a chore to play.
