I thought the combat in the VGA remake of QFG2 was a labor of love. It incorporated variation between melee and missile range combat, and even fighting multiple enemies at once.

That fight with Khaveen was one of the most satisfying boss fights I've gone through in a very long time.

I'm trying to beat that one right now. I couldn't with near maxed out stats as the fighter, and since all attacks do 1 damage no matter what your stats are I figured I'd twink the game mechanics:

-Starting as thief w/magic as a skill, so can throw daggers twice as fast
-pack up as many daggers as possible (hopefully 100)
-Never have to even get close to the artichoke fucker, just throw daggers and win
