Because I'm currently playing Lightening Force with the objective of beating it and if I switch out games I will get distracted then it will end up being just another game I got far in then never went back to. When I do beat it(hopefully soon) I'm going to give Friday the 13th a shot.

As you say, the film Halloween was created as a horror movie regardless of it's ability to succeed at it, just like Clock Tower and Silent Hill are designed as horror games. Are the Castlevania games designed that way in your opinion ? There's a Dracula castle in the NES Flintstones games and that sure as fuck doesn't make it a horror game.
