No, not really. I was being facetious. You can kind of view it that way though, since it contains a lot of the hallmarks of cyberpunk such as cyberspace, transhumanism, and rogue AI's.

Battle Network has some crossover, but ultimately it's too optimistic. Not to say that all cyberpunk is 100% bleak shit, but there has to be some sort of feeling of things not quite being the way they should, thanks to corporate overreach.

I've actually been rereading Neuromancer recently. I really feel like it starts to lose momentum once the actual heists start, and becomes downright comical when they introduce the space Rastas. Shame because the opening chapters are really good. Is Mona Lisa Overdrive any better?

It's pretty good, but pretty flawed. Hard, but also enjoyable. Some missions, mostly the last ones, are pretty rough, and have some bugs which can make your life miserable, if you feel that you've gotten inexplicably stuck, don't feel ashamed to consult a guide. Usually though, it's simply a question of employing the right tactics.

The atmosphere, worldbuilding, and lore of the game makes me coom really hard.

You joke but first few hours is very cyberpunky, the game takes quite alot of inspiration from Blade Runner. Similar opening and dystopian corporate mega city, replicants (Cloud - Deckard, begins to question who or what he is, Sephiroth - Roy, scientific marvels that both kill their creator after infiltrating the cities center of power). Even Aeriths theme is too similar to Memories of Green to be coincidence, I'm sure there's more if I thought about it longer. The developers must have had Blade Runner very much in mind when they first started making FFVII

There's a game adaptation of the Philip K. Dick novel Ubik that has a cyberpunk aesthetic. I haven't played it but it doesn't look very good and it's not really faithful to the book either since it's an rts for some reason.

It's a massive cop-out. There's evidence against all of the prime suspects in the game, and at the end it just picks one of them at random, it doesn't really matter what you do in that sense.

im reading this book rn and the idea of turning it into a rts is really baffling me. I guess the plot of a company that tries to prevent psychic intrusions has some gamey legs, but that quickly isn't the point of the book and seeing elements of the plot incorporated into this weird dungeon crawl is very bizarre

Patched Paradise Cracked from the devs' site seems to work with eng assets from the rip i found. Enjoy, anon. Be advised though: when people in the thread said that it is slavjank, THEY MOTHERFUCKING MEANT IT. It is always turn based, even out of combat.
