MediEvil has one of the most hauntingly fantastic atmospheres in any game that I've played. I feel that the "clunkiness" of older early 3D games adds a lot to this. What are some maybe lesser known games with these moody elements to them?

The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, especially in the dungeons. Never got past the first dungeon as a kid because I kept hearing the grizzly bear's roar from six rooms away and it scared the shit out of me.

I fucking love that game OP, I replay it every October. Sadly, I've never found a game that matched it atmospherically.
