The releases in this series confuse me. The first game I had was The Second Encounter, and the shortcut it installed on the desktop was SS2. When I went to rent Serious Sam 2 for the Xbox, I thought it was going to be that game, and then I found out it was a totally different game altogether. And the game I always told people to play Serious Sam 2 was the wrong game. I don't even know what this Next Encounter bullshit is desu. Second encounter will always be my favorite though.

serious sam 3 BFE (subtitle means before first encounter because it's a prequel. no one like this game)

The Next Encounter is a console-only spin off by different devs. it came out before SS2. there's a million other spin offs named shit like The Random Encounter but w/e

One of the best games for the Gamecube, don't know why people don't talk about it more. Unlike the ps2 version you can play 2 player coop campagin in split screen and 4 player death match. The graphics and framerate are way better than the PS2 version, and it actually manages to hold a steady framerate almost all the time. It controls just fine without having to use the auto aim feature too. The only thing the ps2 version has over the GC is the online multiplayer and a few extra costumes and maps for deathmatch.
