Zoomer here, what are your recommended retro games? I have a PC so I can emulate if need be.

Only thing I can tell you is your attention span is fucked. Give every game at least 2 hours of play before dropping it and then magically you'll be hooked

>> No.8143073

Literally impossible to say without knowing your preferences. Like any new medium, start with what is well known and popular and then gradually branch out as you learn about more titles.

>> No.8143075

I recommend typing in "best ganes for ____" into Google and going from there

Donkey Kong Country. Everyone loves platformers and the music and visuals are kickass

Play Goemon. The second NES one is the first great one imo, start there.

Also there's a Batman-themed Contra in Genesis with insane music and graphics, play that too, why not?

I'm proud of you, /vr/!

Just start from the beginning with the classics.
First play Tennis for Two and Spacewar! and the other early mainframe games. When you've mastered those you can eventually move on to Pong and early arcade games.

shoot em up: gradius, r-type, darius, raiden, dodonpachi, strikers 1945
fighting: street fighter, king of fighters
puzzle: tetris, puyo puyo, columns

hope i didn't leave anything important out

Yeah. Instead, we recommend OP Bratz and japanese exclusives to play, kek

But he still didn't specify what games he likes so I'll recommend him Come See Me Tonight (2003, PC)

I'll say this too, the zoomer thing doesn't make any sense because as far as i know most zoomers actually grew up with the kino shit. Unless zoomer goes much younger than i expected. I'm mid 20s and already knew literally everything that was recommended in this thread (including BRATZ but is it actually good or was that a shitpost?) and im sure im not alone on that.

Another zoomer here. Here are some good entry level games to get into retro gaming:
1. RE series (RE 2, 3, CV, REMAKE and even 4). The RE games are brilliant and need to be replayed over and over again.
2. Super Metroid. An excellent exploration based game. It is close to being perfect.
3. Donkey Kong Country 2. You don't need to play the first one.
4. A JRPG of your choice. I would recommend a FF game between 4 and 9 for a beginner. SMT3 Nocturne is also really good.
5. A Zelda game. Try ALTTP, OOT and MM.
6. Gunstar Heroes
7. Wonder Boy III: The Dragons Trap (SMS)

>>8143253
Also this, because I have no clue what OP is looking for. I could recommend a lot of games depending on what console you want to play.

Just find games and try them on your own accord, don’t take anyone opinions, you’ll be better off.

>>8143401
in my opinion the jrpg you should recommend someone new is chrono trigger because it's one of the best jrpgs of all time and it's relatively simple to get into
