The fences were a response to the problem already underway. The weirdest part to me is that other guests were coming and going as far as I know. They were certainly entering and I think more would have been pissed if they couldn't leave. The simplest explanation is that a path modification in the adjacent space had for some reason let some guests down and they were actually clipping under the ramp the whole time unable to get to the edge of the ramp that lets them walk on it. I had actually forgotten the one default tile of path ramp that sloped up from the entrance until after this started so that's why I think it's from changing the next one over. Overwriting path STILL should not have this effect though.

this shit changes with every OpenRCT2 guest AI change. But you should be fine with multi-wide paths as long as you're not playing RCT1. You should still go 2-wide on main pathways, maybe 3+ if it's a main intersection. Also a good way to reduce crowding is to find ways to "store" guests. Food courts with lots of benches, long lines for the newest rollercoaster, high-capacity rides... find ways to get guests out of the way.

Can't help you about the specifics of that video, but this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UKKaTGwIqc is a video by the guy who did RCT1 and 2's graphics himself. Looks like some people in the comments asked him this same question about the assets; sounds like he does still have the original models saved somewhere, but he can't release them because they're still under copyright. >cool prison island scenario
>it's moneyless
>the available coasters are uninteresting
>the only objective is 10 coasters with 6+ excitement, which combined with moneylessness means you don't give a single shit about guests, the park layout, or making quality creations that work with the landscape or each other
Damn this scenario killed my soul faster than being locked in real Alcatraz would. I should have plopped down premades because no part of doing it all manually felt enjoyable.

On the subject of objectives, I was thinking of eventually doing a scenario with a repay loan/achieve value objective where the initial loan is large and you only get normal starting money, the idea being that you need strong results quickly and can then progress to the end at your leisure. Does that sound interesting and reasonable without scam rides?

>> No.8165862

>>8165819
scammers gonna scam, but just don't be chickenshit about the available rides and most players should play it as you intend.

>> No.8165953

My favorite scam rides are full length rides that use misdirection to look like neat and tidy scam rides when in reality they are doing loops and helixes underground.

I don't feel like hosting so here is the scenario file if someone else wants to host.

The file is big, just like Caldera and Big Ass Rock, I'm assuming its some custom object.

I haven't looked at the code but surely the average speed and ride length padding must be relevant to scoring.

>> No.8176527

>>8176364
Average speed makes a pretty big difference. But as far as I remember, boosters are more expensive and less reliable.

>> No.8176540

>>8176342
They're not really apples to oranges, they are different ways to get up to speed to send the ride through the course in a timeframe you want it to.
>>8175664
My opinion in the matter is that booster runways are "better" in that they get the same speed faster, but there are significant tradeoffs that you have to consider. They will generally cap out at a lower speed than a medium-height build of the ride would be able to drop to (and much lower than a tall rendition of the ride) but can still get it through a fair amount of track. The other thing is that a booster runway makes a ride take a fuckton of park space. The throughput you gain from it will only be a little bit higher.

Boosters have their uses but I usually stick to lift hills. Boosters are for shuttle, small circuit, and novelty coasters. Lifts are for everything conventional. I feel like every ride being able to use boosters in OpenRCT2 cheapens them. I've even seen wooden coasters with boosters in random servers... that's just sacrilege.

To be fair, that's obviously a cheat in effect because woodies don't get it even in OpenRCT2. Inverted coasters also never get them, it all just seems to be things that should have them. As far as I know, the only two it added them to that never had them before are the Water Coaster (which is weird but they're shitty Junior boosters anyway) and Vertical Drop.
