/vr/ is a great board and has easily become my favourite board on the site. Most of you are awesome and are a testament that old games don't die out easily. I always want to be a better contributor; to make this board the best it can be. To that end, I've decided to scan my game boxes and post them here for everyone to enjoy. Game Gear, in particular, lacks decent scans of boxes. If you have your own boxes you want to scan and share, feel free. (And yes, I realize there are sites dedicated to this sort of thing, but I want to share with you all instead).

This thread isn't done yet. I decided I'd scan a manual and see how it goes. This one is for Ecco: The Tides of Time.

Unfortunately, this is one of my worst condition manuals but that's why I chose it to test out first. It's also one of the cheap regular paper Game Gear manuals most of the later games (1995+) opted for

And now it's clear why half the pages are misaligned: the staple is in a bad place.

Honestly, when I got this manual the staples were all rusted. To prevent further damage I carefully removed them with a knife. It was the first time I had ever tried to perfectly restaple something (never came up before), so I was unsure of how to go about it. I figured that since this manual was kinda shitty, I'd give it a shot with a stapler. The result is what you see. The staple even broke so it's difficult to remove without further damage... but I learned. Now I do it a better way by manually inserting the staple into the holes and closing the staple with the broad side of a knife.

In honour of the game's previous owner, I beat the game and filled out the remaining passwords that they never wrote down. It seems they got stuck on one of the harder non-machine levels. Wherever you are, this one's for you.

I have no idea what you're saying. Bruce Lee was a real person. Liu Kang is a fictional character. Dragon the Bruce Lee Story is not a fighter like Mortal Kombat, it's a sidescrolling beat-em-up, and a decent one at that. The only problem is that there is no music at all in the game.

I don't like Sonic Chaos as much as the others. I'd say it's the weakest of the GG Sonics because the whole thing becomes a big fetch chore to get 100 rings to do the special stage. Some stages only have like 105-110 rings in them as well so lots of backtracking is necessary to maximize your chances. It's just not as fun to me as the others. Even Sonic 1 is better but I wouldn't say it's a must-have game for the system

They did a good job of making this game much more similar to other versions. It has a lot of moves in it and the gameplay is much improved over the first. A very good game, and the manual is very useful for explaining all of the move inputs.
