Just like the games, even though they are seen as outdated, they had so much more love and personality put into them. Remember the Spyro ones? Some were a hit and miss like Crash 2's, but that Ape Escape one!

older commercials were better in general. I was looking at some compilation video of old commercials and they're so outrageous and energetic. Modern commercials are so lethargic in comparison. Remember when a fast food place would hire like 100 people to make a giant performance just to sell a hamburger? Even if you had no interest in the product it was really entertaining.

nowadays they literally have these things called "cinematic trailers" that they make for pretty much every game now and it's basically a short film about the movie. i don't know how much more "love and personality" you could ask to be put into an ad for a video game.
there is nothing special about these older commercials. there is nothing special about anything old. you people always want to say "IT WAS BETTER BACK IN THE DAY" when it's the same shit today.
