Is there a reason the Genesis doesn't produce sound for some games, but does for others?
I have a Model 1, using a Mega Everdrive x5 and the affected games are Contra 3, Rocket Knight Adventures and CV Bloodlines.

Only thing I can think of is you grabbed the wrong ROM for your region, or it got corrupted somehow. I got mine from CD-ROMance FWIW.
