Here's the Wikipedia summary for "Rex Ronan: Experimental Surgeon" :

'Jake Westboro is a man with it all: wife, a kid and a house in the suburbs. He also has a job with the Blackburn Tobacco Company. As a result of smoking since he was 15, Jake is dying from the cigarettes that he once sold; the player must help the near-microscopic surgeon Rex Ronan travel inside of Jake's body and remove tar, nicotine, precancerous cells, and other health hazards that are preventing Jake from speaking to the world about the hazards of tobacco.

If the player (Rex Ronan) dies from the evil microbots that were sent by the tobacco company, so does Jake."

I actually beat this one. It wasn't completely terrible, but it seemed like way too hard a game for kids who'd be young enough to want to play it. My little brother was given it and gave up quickly.

It's also one of those shittily balanced games where most of the rest of the game is easier than the first level. You can skip most of the hotel, but until you figure out where to go it's repetitive as fuck.

Tom and Jerry for SNES was my second game for the system, first one was SMW bundled.
I got this game as a gift from grandma, and I tried to enjoy it the best I could. Shit controls, subpar graphics, awful soundtrack (some good bass though), and some bad design choices.

I guess you could say it's one of the many shovelware titles based on famous licenses. I don't know why the holders of the rights never make sure to get your franchise good represented. The developers of this game was HI-TECH (I remember it having a very chiptune-like ID sound, and the image of a pixelated heart fading away... I must say, if the devs were good, that name and logo would actually be cool). An american developer, small one who have done the Barbie games before... so, you can tell this is not going to be good. But I didn't knew this when I was a kid, I was just "Fuck yeah, Tom and Jerry on 16 bit, this is gonna be a blast", hahaha.
The first and second worlds are bareable, but that fucking toy world is sadistical. It's the artificial difficulty of the time. It's a short as fuck game (I think... 4 worlds only?) of the most mediocre and bland gameplay, with the only hope that the game would eventually get good for your favorite cat and mouse.
I still have the cart, it still works but plastics are unscrewed, or rather, broken off. I blasted the cart against the wall, I believe it was at one of the toy levels, for sure. It's the only game I ever did that to, I raged but never broke any game or console. This piece of shit though...
Anyway, some years ago I decided to give it a big fuck you and finished it. I just wanted to confirmt it myself. Yeah, it's just 4 worlds with 3 levels each. Last boss as someone else commented was anticlimatic and felt like the shittiest boss in the game. Everytime the boss was Tom, and he used some sort of gimmick on you. Really dumb stuff, you just had to follow a pattern and spam A.

I still play the game from time to time, just to rage, for nostalgia's sake.

I remember playing the GBC version of the Tom and Jerry platformer and finding it "alright, I guess" - functional, but kind of uninspired. Never tried the SNES version.

Worst SNES game I played as a kid must have been either Mechwarrior or Populous, both for the same reason - I didn't have a manual and didn't have a fucking clue what was going on, so I never really played further. Otherwise, I never had any bad games in my library - closest was maybe Super Morph, and even that one was pretty interesting and fun. Pretty much everything else I played was great.

There are a few that come to my mind.

- Porky's Haunted Holiday. Not very fun, somewhat confusing, and the final boss was retardedly easy.

- Toy Story. Absolutely terrible. Just about every level was different, but many objectives were unclear and the game itself was extremely difficult. Even using save states, this game felt ridiculously hard. That level where you run from Sid's dog? Absolutely disgusting.

- Gods was also an interesting one. Not sure if I'd call it bad, but its difficulty and lack of direction was just as bad as Toy Story's. Just another one of those games that I wouldn't believe is possible to beat without save states (ala Toy Story).

The only really bad game I remember playing was one with a name simular to, "Mad Balls." You had to guide a ball along a path without letting it fall over the edge; kind of like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FX1tG9KuUbU..

It wasn't fun AT ALL, had no purprose (not even a delicious cake moment), and what I really didn't like about it was that it was one of the relatively rare times I got to rent a game from the video vault.

I'm not sure I can say I ever played a bad SNES game as a kid, my dad had a pretty fucking keen eye for good games. Closest thing I could say would be FF Mystic Quest, but I think he got me that because I was like 5 and he wanted to introduce me to JRPGs.
