Yes. The GBA version benefits from having beautiful 2d sprites and a shorter battle screen means a better challenge.

The ps2 is a lazy remake that mostly uses KH1 graphics while making the combat easier but has more new content.

Card games used to be an automatic red flag but I had to get this because I got obsessed with KH1 not long beforehand because a friend recommended at a time where I thought it was super gay.

The game was great, extremely charming. Still doesn't compare to KH1 but it was absolutely up there for my favorite GBA games.

I played ReCoM recently for the extras. It was cool but one of the most repetitive things I every played. It was hard to do more than one world per session.

The problem with KH it's not cringe enough
The original parts in hollow bastion, traverse town and particularly the original toy story plot in KH3 really show all the unrealized autism potential the series had. Instead all we get are inferior licensed remakes of disney stories.
