How come the best games of 6th gen are all handheld ones?

>> No.8042893

>>8042889
Literally only half of those games are good.

I doubt you played rocket slime, to be QUITE honest.
In fact I doubt you played most of these.

Because not having the pressure to do a huge "next gen" hit, devs could had fun with those smaller projects. Also, japanese developers were masters of 2D gaming, and that era was their swan song before 3D was the norm even in portable gaming.

I think it's largely that the games were pretty trim, not too much bloat. Bloat is the biggest sin of modern games, aiming at playtime as a major metric.

I disagree but I haven't played many handheld games.

Of all GBA castlevanias, did you really choose Circle of the Moon?
This is a bait thread

Always worth it as opposed to lining the pockets of greasy ebay resellers who are destroying the viability of the hobby for profit.

Or you could just emulate and hope to god that your favorite obscure game isn't one of those "you can't emulate this particular game and attempting to do so creates mustard gas" games that every system seems to have at least one of

is quite good and you have certain attacks that was available on no niintendo platforms, music was fine, and was the closest to snes games compared to the other two since are based on symphony of the night for ps1 instead of using dracula X and bloodlines as base like circle of the moon.
metroid 4 (or fusion) is quite good, while is linear it doesn't matter you can still explore the rest of the areas and have a free experience.

this is why you use 2 emus visualboy and mgba sharing the saves folder just in case.
Visualboy advance M runs games really smooth and the filters really help to make the games looks good from what i know the only unplayable game there would be one of the super mario advance but if you open that game on mgba and then you play on VBA the game will load without problems.

I don't understand why the west only got the one Slime game.

>> No.8044680

anyone knows why some games don't work on the EZ Flash 4 : Yoshi's Island, Tomato Adventure, Suikoden Card Stories... dozens of games work just fine except those few. Weird

Remember playing these, great games. Didn't play the other ones

I'm not sure about these being the best games of that gen, since i didn't play a lot of GBA (same goes for home consoles games, only ones i'm playing now are PS2 titles)

though apparently GBA was a handheld SNES, and if that was the case then developers were making SNES games again but with more experience soooo yeah.
Again, i'm not sure, but meh

Because the west doesn't like Dragon Quest. Westerners are too stupid to understand it's not Dragon Ball Z.
