Which he doesn't do because Serge and Kid find her and save her instead. He's probably canonically dead because he's clearly trying to get himself killed by provoking the party and even if he stays alive, he has no presence on the story from that point forward, at all. He doesn't even get a sidequest from Gaspar because any reference to him is so vague it applies to Frog, too.
