I've been beating games lately, and I've realized that most NES games, and honestly, a lot of SNES games, are short.

Also 30-60 mins is the perfect length for any kind of action game. The mindset that every game, no matter the genre, needs to be 10+hours started with the 6th gen and ruined a lot of genres.

That doesn't even reflect anything among old games. Final Fantasy on NES is 256kb and lasts 20+hours. Compared that with 500mb PSX action games that last 3.

Oh come on, the truth is a lot of classic games were short which was fine because I personally rented a lot of my games and only bought the ones for multiplayer or ones I loved replaying, a lot of NES games are hard but most SNES games aren't hard.

I don't mind that NES games are short because they're hard enough to be rewarding when you finish them. SNES not quite as much because the games are easier, but they're still a lot of fun to play and retain plenty of replay value.

Not a bad thing in itself. A lot of classic games hit a sweet spot in length which makes it easy to come back to them and play them again without feeling tiring. Many newer from the 6th gen onward really over stay their welcome.
