I think the game would have benefited from a little more exploration of the future, or more future aspects being present in the compressed present time. Maybe removing junction machine Ellone from the loop would've fixed a lot of their problems.

Squall&co want to kill Ultimecia because of her time compression

Ultimecia only wants to use time compression for her own survival, because, being a time loop, it was foretold that Squall&co would come to kill her.

At the end of Disc 1, when Squall thinks to himself "there is no good & evil, just two sides with different point of views", it actually applies to the entire game, not just the Galbadia part.

In Fisherman's Horizon, when the mayor says that "all conflict could be resolved if the two parties just sat together and talked", it actually applies to the entire game as well. Squall shrugs it off calling it naive, but he was literally brainwashed from childhood to be a soldier, not a peace maker.

Talking to Zell's neighbour has him tell you about Hyne at the very beginning of disc 1. He also mentions that the god could be right here right now. Originally, Rinoa was in Selphie's place as seen in early builds of the game so he would have foreshadowed her later powers.

also did you know if you level up Card Mod before this mission ,you can get some hilariously overpowered characters since you have access to level 5 cards let alone Minimog , Quistis, and Ifrit cards that you can liquidate for very OP spells ? it makes killing the spider machine a joke

and if you "kill" the spiderbot on the bridge, before it reaches the beach, there will be no spiderbot corpse on the beach when you go back to Dollet later on in the game.

For some reasons you still get the cutscene where it gets shot down on the beach, I guess it was too awesome to pass

SeeD can both be read as Seed, Cid or CD, since this was the first Square game developed from the start for the Playstation and not Nintendo's disc-less machine. Also Balamb garden has a huge spinning CD that makes it fly.
