Anyone ever use one of these? I just ordered one but I think the only mouse compatible games I have are Final Doom and X-COM. Any recommendations?

>> No.7999480

C&C Red Alert and Dune 2000 are compatible with it.

i didn't know this existed until recently. How would you even play doom on it anyways? does it come with a keyboard?
or do you do some shitty monster combo of PS1 remote and Mouse?

Clock Tower games are good horror point and clicks. The game known as Clock Tower II in the US is bullshit though.

I didn’t really buy it for Doom I just wanted to try it out and happened to find Final Doom at a flea market the other day so it came to mind. Playing with just a mouse is going to suck especially with Plutonia. It’s a shame the base PSX port came out before analog controls existed

I only use it to play Quake 2, Z, and Die Hard Trilogy. I used to play Discworld and Broken Sword with it before I got them on PC.

Assuming it follows the dos version, you move by sliding the mouse forward and backward, I really have no idea though. If the thread’s still here when I get it I can report back

it exists for light gun games and VNs, that's really all

Thanks anons I’ll note these and see what I can pick up locally. I know they’re online but sometimes these flea markets have some cd-only shitty copies that I can get for cheap, which I prefer since I actually play them. Always hate buying like new when I’m not really a collector, just a nerd

Aw fuck yeah Tokimeki Memorial 1 and 2 are compatible with it. I completely forgot, that's amazing.

I bought one just because I like console mice. If I ever play any game that supports it, I'll be sure to use it.

Isn't it weird there is no adapter to plug in any USB mouse?

>> No.7999654

>>7999589
There's not that many games on the Playstation that supports it. All consoles during that era had mice but only the Saturn had widespread support for it. On the N64 it's basically only a few games on the 64DD that supports it.
Support was a bit more widespread on the PS2, they used regular USB mice.

>> No.7999706

dont have the Mouse yet, but I do have the 3rd party track ball. I feel like im probably mistaken about this, but I wanna say a bunch of the Atari arcade games compilation supported the mouse for any trackball titles like Crystal Castles.

Isn't there a Lemmings on PS1 too?

Simcity 2000 uses it I'm pretty sure. Also, I think the original PSX release of Doom didn't have mouse support, rather it was added for the Final Doom release.

>>7999515
Doom is designed around horizontal mouse turning. If you're playing it keyboard only by choice, you have too many chromosomes.

>>7999528
Give it a go. That backwards and forwards movement with the mouse I think is a very poor fit for Doom, it made more sense for Wolfenstein 3D where there's A), no inertia to your movement at all, and B), no ledges or pits to fall down from.

Possibly you could modify the mouse so it can only turn left or right, but I don't recall how it even handled on the PSX. I think you use the gamepad in your other hand?

No, since PS1 had no USB ports

From all the games supporting the mouse (see above list) I mostly only played the point and click adventures, like the Discworld games (weird that Blazing Dragons didn't support the mouse). Sentinel Returns (I loved to play the first game on my C64 back in the day) was also fine with the mouse but still required the controller for other things.

I tried playing Alien Resurrection too with a mouse but I really preferred the controller with this one.
