My biggest issue with n64 emulation is mapping the controls to the xbone controller I use on my PC. A game like Ocarina of Time is just ever so slightly off when it comes to shit like the Z trigger and C buttons.

It depends. I emulate GBA and PS1, but I play N64 and GC on the consoles. I think the main difference is that it's literally easier for me to play the N64 and GC because it's all hooked up to a CRT and ready to go, while I don't even have a proper controller for those games to emulate on my PC.

I get original hardware whenever possible, I love my vidya collection. Owning the real physical games is important to me. Though emulation is very handy for games that are really expensive, like LSD: Dream Emulator, Klonoa, Tomba, etc. I still want to save up and get real physical copies of those games someday, but at least money won't stop me from just playing them for now.
