Human DNA has an information storage capacity that very neatly fits the size of a GameCube game. Thus, it would be possible with gene editing technology to store a copy of e.g. Super Mario Sunshine inside the human genome. Details in image.

it wouldn't be human at that point. all life on earth's dna is largely similar. i'd be very surprised if any video game turned into dna would be a viable life form, or able to survive for longer than a week at all.

dna mutates constantly, binary executables aren't very tolerant of even a single bit flip

you also don't just "read the whole dna" and especially not in a desired sequence, for any given gene you're talking 50x that much dna on the chromosome that solely exists to provide the correct structure to make that gene accessible, not to mention all the binding and regulatory sites

also limiting information encoding to 4 base pairs is an extremely elementary school tier understanding of dna, google epigenetics

You can't store something inside of something else unless there's space for both. If you completely use up all the space for a GameCube game, you no longer have a human, you have a GameCube game.

You'd have to do something where you eliminate some portion of the human genome that is unnecessary, and then fill it with some amount of GameCube game that is well under the theoretical max file size, so maybe you have someone who is a human Bonk reboot.

Think like how they fit Kanto into Silver/Gold, and that's what you have to do for this.

Like, I get that the Gamecube game has less 'bytes' of data, but how exactly does that mean that you could store a copy of the game in the genome? Like, how do you translate the game data into actual DNA?
