How the ASS do you get this game to play?

I installed it on a DOS-based Windows 9x OS and it won't launch. Says DOS can't read the CD drive or some bullshit.

Just play the Dreamcast version

The arcade version emulates perfectly on a toaster as well as the other versions for Saturn and PS1. If this is a DOS based port then it will only run at 35 fps which is horrible for Fighting games and will be a pain in the ass to setup compared to every other option available. wtf r u doin?

Man, that controller they're advertising on the cover looks dreadful

You probably got a corrupt DOS-ROM. I'd suggest buying a Premium VGA-graded copy and dumping a brand new ROM. Hope that helps, let us know how it works out for you!

I mean seriously why are you playing this port

But it's probably an issue with MSCDEX not being loaded. You can set up your config.sys/autoexec.bat for MS-DOS mode (which you're probably booting into) with the following tutorial:

Get the Street Fighter collection on any fucking current console and play it on there. You’re setting yourself up for disaster with the friggin dos port

But...this is a retail disc.

Works fine on DOSBox

There seem to be some misconceptions regarding this version. This port of SSF2T is actually a very decent port, the one that was crappy and gave the PC version a bad rep is the port of SF2. It also doesn't run at 35 fps, you can either lock it at the vertical refresh (for DOS that is 70hz thus 70fps) or leave it maxed out (will be too fast on modern machines through dosbox). The port was based directly on the Arcade version and is pretty faithful, though it was converted by another company (EuroCom).

Sometimes its just fun to check out inferior ports.

Eh, its a lot better then the SF2 port, but the SSF2T one is far from accurate, it has a of issues still and is fairly janky.

The characters do take up a lot more screen space, and it limits the distance between the two fighters, which affects the gameplay to be somewhat different than how the arcade originals were. I do like its alternative remixed music.
