All of these are wrong and damage the controller, the only correct option is to do a roadie wrap (or comparable) and use a velcro strip to wrap the cable so it doesn't come undone.

Doing the stuff in the OP leads to worse controller problems than the joystick since you can at least replace those parts easily.

Just watch some audio cable coiling videos where it actually matters to coil them right or there will be noticeable sound degradation.
Controller cables aren't as long, but you're still adding a lot of tension by making tiny loops like that, and the part where it connects to the board will eventually break off.
Not to mention this shit warps the cable so when you use the controller it will be all spirally, and it's gonna forever to turn loose again. And then if wrap it around again, the whole process repeats which is exactly what results in broken connections provided you do it enough times.

The re-release packaging differs from mine. The MAME logo being apart of the official packaging graphics on my box, is my favorite aesthetic. My rox was reddish. The re-release came in a blue box. I'm not sure if the re-release is as much of a tank compared to the original though.

Mine was $200 USD when I bought it new from X-gaming in 2003. Not bad but used. Would account for the supply/demand. I know the singles sell out fast now. Back in 2003 when I bought mine, they had stock for sometime. X-gaming was a newer company then. Very nice people I remember. It's basically the real thing. Considering they offer a full size cabinet that fits their pads, it's a win win. I have a full size and table top cabinet also.
