I'll start with Volley Fire for the Gameboy, a mix of shmup and 1 vs 1 fighter. Pretty cool game with sick soundtrack.

Castle Wars. Pretty cool Hudson gameboy RPG/chess combo game

Love finding gameboy hidden gems. Check out Tail Gator for some solid platforming action.

I'll keep the gameboy train rolling. Solar Striker was my first shmup. Developed by Nintendo and piss easy but I played the everloving shit out of it.

and also played a shitload of Fortified Zone. Kinda had an original Metal Gear feel to it. Not the best game in the world but it's decent fun. Think there are sequels that came out only in Japan that're decent too.

Doubt it's lesser known, but I almost never hear anyone mention it.
Also Ghost Master.

Toobin, the Midway arcade game. It deserves better.

I'll stick with this thread's gameboy theme. Qix for the original gameboy. I like it better than the proper 80s arcade version. It's so simple but perfect

I so disappointed with the NES version when I rented it. I loved playing the machine at Star Buck's.

Yeah, the sequel is Ikari no Yousai 2

I like the game Cyraid, it's a fun and interesting puzzle game. If you really want to suffer, you can play Hyper Lode Runner on GB. It's hard as fuck.

It is great, and has so little appreciation. I find many great mid-late 80s American arcades get overlooked for no reason.

The Mario cutscenes are great. Completely out of place and bizarre.

Aerostar - a slow shooter game with some creepy enemies. Some great music in there. You can sort of overpower your ship at times.

Godzilla - a puzzle game. Destroy rocks and avoid enemies. It gets pretty difficult. When I got it as a kid, I was disappointed at first... I thought I'd be fighting, not bashing rocks. Also - Ghidorah used to scare the shit out of me. He arrives without warning.
