It's just disgusting how people will specifically target individuals who have done nothing to deserve it.

Here was someone who dedicated their lives to the niche subject of accurate hardware emulation. Sure it wasn't a massive, world-changing project, but it was something that is obviously appreciated by others and helped ensure classic games be remain playable. I don't see how this type of altruism could justify harassment simply due to the creator being 'different.'

We need these off-beat individuals to take strange, unique ideas and build them up because, in the end, no one else is willing to do so. I understand that pre-existing mental issues no doubt contribute to suicidal decisions, but there's really no need to add virtual harassment on top of it for the sake of short-term laughs.

And while I doubt the vast majority of people engaged in this harassment campaign towards Near feel any sort of remorse, I would hope at least a handful begin to reevaluate how they want to spend their limited time on Earth.

bahamut lagoon was pretty boring in my opinion, the party mechanic and dragon feeding had some potential but in practice there was no difficulty so every map felt like a chore. And the story bits between the map weren't enjoyable either, I suppose there's some novelty in having so many obnoxious and unlikeable characters but it didn't keep me engaged as I was playing through the game.

Anyways, it would be a shame if byuu died. I don't use bsnes but I'd prefer for everyone to live happily and make more software in the future. However this absolutely reeks of a hoax. The "source" claiming he's dead goes on to ask for a website to be shut down. Seems like a weird way to weaponize someone's "death" when you should be trying to check on that person's safety or grieving if the death is confirmed.
