HIDDEN GAMES? AS IN NOT THE AVERAGE GAME EVERYONE KNOWS? I'M GONNA COOOOOOOOM

>> No.7901420

>>7901346
There literally isnt anymore hidden gems on snes, or nes or n64 or any nintendo console. Nintendo is the most popular brand in videogame history. Everything that was a hidden gem even a few years ago is now commonly known by most enthusiasts. Metal orb 2, metal max 2, gossun oyoyo, shiren the wanderer, etc... Theres nothing left, anon.

Honestly? I feel like all retro consoles are running out of “hidden gems.” Even the PS1/2 are running dry, although there’s probably a handful left. After several decades, dozens of infographics and hundreds of MetalJesus videos, how much more can you expect to find?

I think the focus should be more so on better documenting the good games that have already been found to make them easier for newcomers to find. Trying to find new ones at this point seems like a waste of time - diminishing returns have kicked in hard.

It's pretty fucking bad. It's barely a beat em up, very slow and stiff, you're better off holding L or R and hitting Y to do a big uppercut that does like 6 times the damage of a normal punch, or jump, then hold L/R and hit Y to do a flying roundhouse kick. After doing a few boring levels of slow beat em up "action", you enter a haunted house that has a door maze, and if you fuck up and die you get sent back to the previous level.

Nintendo consoles especially. If an NES/SNES/N64 game is good, it's well known, and if it's not well known, it's not good.

The Game Boy is an exception, there lots of great but little-known games for it.

I feel like that's because outside of Nintendo's own games and maybe a few of the big ones, the library is a disaster that's overall worse than the NES

I loved this shit when I was 7. Very hard for me at the time though. I couldn’t get past the mountain level (it was only like level 3 though.) You started that level with a sword that shot beams when you’re at full health, and I would tard rage when I lost it.

Pretty fun, probably one of the few platform games where the water levels are better than land levels.

Apparently reviews panned it for mediocre graphics but it has its moments.

>Shortly after the game's release, DMA Design was sued by Pixar for allegedly copying the unicycle design and concept from their 1987 short film Red's Dream. Mike Dailly, one of the developers at DMA Design, commented, "The problem with Pixar was that they seemed to think that any computer generated unicycle was owned by them." DMA Design lost the lawsuit, and as a result, Nintendo had to terminate production of further Unirally cartridges. According to Dailly, "The deal was that Nintendo wouldn't make any more carts so Unirally only sold the 300k initial run". Fellow DMA Design developer Robbie Graham recalled, "They took footage from Red's Dream and compared it to Unirally and the unicycles were virtually the same; this isn't a big surprise as there’s not a lot of ways you can bring life to a unicycle without looking like the one Pixar did. The judge - being the moron that he was - agreed."
