Bruh this soundtrack is fucking nuts. I know it absolutely filters normies but as a trance and techno fan, I can't believe Yuzo had the vision to produce this in 1994. Bonkers. Anyone else prefer it to 2's?

Fuck no, Yuzo literally shit out the tracks using an automated randomizer and unironically sounds like Crazy Bus as a result. I'm not against techno as a genre but there's next to no composition going on here, he just spliced together random sounds. I unironically thought there was something wrong with my game when I first played it.

I think Yuzo got too carried away with this soundtrack. Aside from a very niche audience, I can't imagine people enjoying this.

These sound way worse than in the game. Much more clipped and distorted.

My favorite sdtk of the first 3 (1+2 are also great), but they don't really work in-game. I don't know why Crazy Train isn't the final boss theme instead of a Jet encounter, the Mr X track is shitty music for a boss fight, it sounds like cutscene dialogue

I like the music but I never warmed up to the game itself, it seems rushed and unpolished (on top of getting censored like crazy)

People always seem to say that, but I never really understood why. Always seemed fine to me as a kid, and growing up I still prefer it over 2.

The game takes too long to finish (compare TAS runs of this game with 1+2 and other popular bmups, 3's world record is the longest. So human skill or cheats won't make the game faster-paced). The hit collision and health points never felt right. Some of the new enemies don't do much to distinguish themselves from the Galsias and other returning grunt enemies And for the music, it sounded like some stages are playing the wrong music. Especially the Mr X rematch, and the final boss

Extra moves, a special meter so you don't lose health, weapon specials, running and rolling, all of that sounds great on paper but the pacing and gameplay always felt off to me. To be fair 1 also has jank collision, but it's faster paced than 3, even with 3 adding running

iirc its motohiro thats the one thats killing it on this game
yuzo has like one good song and the rest of his are kinda weak imo
all the real bangers are motohiro

did you play it with a 6-button contrroller?
you kinda have to, so that you can do all those special moves

Similar stuff existed back then. Check out Robert Hood.

SoR3 is like a precursor to Manabu Namiki's Raizing+Cave shmup tunes. I was hoping he'd do a track on SoR4 since he and Kawashima have some of the same influences (and he collab'd with Yuzo on another project in the past)

It has like 2 good tracks. 1's music sounded better with the limited technology.

That might be why I'm used to it, I didn't play 2 until around 2013, but I had been playing 1 and 3 since I was a kid.

idk who tf that is but if youre not full of shit then its very clear that whoever/whatever it is youre talking about is not human
im talking about normal humans trying to play the game
try it with the 6-button
it helps a TON to have access to the extended moveset right from the get-go
i find blaze in particular to have some pretty abuse-able moves

also, sidenote: if hes not dying, by the second or third stage he will have access to all the special moves anyways, so kind of a moot point
thats whatthe stars nextto your health mean iirc

I do not, I really love the music of 1 and 2, but the music of 3 was so bad it ruined even all the gameplay improvements. It is why I like Streets if Rage Remake, as they remixed the songs to be better and more fitting to the game.

I'll leave this here as I can't get enough of the song: https://youtu.be/s49c6BRzcwk
