Since security guards basically do nothing about vandalism except that it doesn't happen directly near that guard, the means of preventing vandals is just to keep happiness up with good rides, short queues, decor and a clean park.

But what if you chose to solve the problem with guards instead? Would your park have to have a fuckton to actually solve vandalism? Does the hypothetical "useful security guards" park just look like that scene out of the last Matrix movie with rows of smiths lined up watching?

Is it worth making longer roller coasters for anything other than aesthetics? If you're just going for scenario wins should you just do smaller, faster coasters to maximize guest throughput?

Yes, I find that generally going for that aesthetic Giga/Hyper-coaster in the last plot of your park, or that goes around the perimeter, to be the finishing touch, but there's an art to any custom-design ride that maximizes throughput at the same time. For example, I live buidling log flumes for the sake of making easy money, but I need to make sure I build it long enough to get the 31-car limit, all while making sure the runtime is under 5-6 minutes before guests complaining about wanting off on the ride.

So apply this mindset to coasters: You can make an aesthetic, realistic Giga with brake runs and loading tracks, but if it only has 3 trains, 12 cars and 5 minutes of track youre gonna have a short queue line or one with an entertainer or two to keep the satisfaction of waiting more than 6 minutues in line worth its keep.

Talking about the art of coaster-building, I used to build long stations for this reason to get the most trains and vehicle limits, running in Continous Circuit Mode. But true skill is having brake runs on your long rides for more trains, and just under the time limit.

>> No.7895590

It doesn't matter how long the ride is if you utilize block sections properly.

>> No.7895964

>>7895289
You shouldn't need to maximize efficiency for normal scenario play, just go with personal preference.

But since we all love pumping those numbers, keep in mind that a larger excitement+intensity rating does command more prestige in-game. And length is a good way to get both stats up. There's also less obvious perks to longer coasters, like the ability to store guests in line and on the ride.

>> No.7895981

there's some really simple rules to follow to get blocks to run smoother, and the most important is to RUN FEWER THAN THE MAX TRAINS. The game by default will run block sectioned mode with the max allowed trains, but it will ALWAYS run smoother with -1 from max, and -2 if you have more than 6 blocks.

First block is initial lift hill, every block after is slightly shorter (duration not always distance), usually placed at the end of a flat section at the top of a hill or wherever I can get a train to slow down enough, last block section is the station including the amount of time it takes to load a train. This should prevent trains from stopping at block brakes and if it doesn't just run one fewer train. Don't hit block brakes going faster than about 49km/h or the train might just plow through them.

It's kind of tricky to figure out how large to build coasters when you're starting out. I usually start my parks with 1 smaller coaster, like a shuttle loop or a wooden coaster with a height less than 100ft (30m)

Once you get to 500+ guests you can really start to get bigger. We're talking maybe 3 respectable coasters and however many smaller rides. I save the hypercoasters and high-capacity stuff for when I'm nearing 1000 guests. After you get around 1500, your park should be able to support just about anything, but if it's a very sprawled out layout, it might still need more.

Anon some of your pre-builts are honestly really cool and they were nice to have in the first few servers but when you spam them in literally every single park it just shows that you're not really here to contribute to a collaboration but to just ask for attention.

Literally all we're asking of you is to build and design custom rides that YOU feel proud of, regardless of how objectively good or bad it is (as long as it doesn't murder guests).

Again, I will reiterate, it literally does not matter in the slightest how good or bad your coasters are. Nobody here cares. I personally don't. Nobody has made fun of each other for building bad rides.

Nobody cares. All that matters to us is that you put some effort into the rides you make.

Doesn't matter, prebuilts are lazy. Mom's Spaghetti is a good coaster, but I've seen it too many times.
Also since you asked why Garden Tower was allowed, it was because I didn't know it was a prebuilt because its scenery fit in so well. Also it's just a flat ride.

And no one really cares about flat rides, even if they're "prebuilt"

they're usually small and meant to be plopped down and left there to rot.
