This game sucks. They gut Wario's moveset from 2 (including basic platformer stuff like jumping able to break bricks or being able to swim) so they can give it back to you as unlocks, and you have to got back and forth between levels on a chain of unlocks instead of starting each level with what you need to do and get to explore freely. Plus the new transformations are mostly useless or redundant with only vampire and Snowball being worth remembering.

I thought the same thing but after going back to 2, the levels are just so much better in 3. even with losing your moveset and the metroid elements feeling like a linear checklist it's the better game.

I prefer the bosses in 3 to 2 but the branching storyline in 2 is less confusing
4 was almost perfect but the timed bosses ruined it for me
it's a shame that the physics were broken in shake dimension it was almost a return to form

Pretty much one of the best exploration platformers ever made. Progression is honestly more satisfying then most classic Metroidvanias, indie or not. Anyone going in expecting the usual Mario or Wario-esque platformer won't take well to this new direction but otherwise it's great.

It's major criticism that I feel is valid is that it doesn't add much to the Wario Land 2 formula, but honestly WL3 levels are just so much better and more varied then WL2 that I don't think it matters all that much.

It's also the last Wario Land that felt like a meaty adventure. Wario land 4 is great but feels painfully small, same with Shake It!

This game is also great. Wario controls very well. It's only problem for me is the floaty jumps, but otherwise it's such a great apex of the Wario Land 1 mechanics. Sadly it's incredibly short.

It's not that short. There are less levels but they're rather big and the treasures aren't always easy to find. I'm at level 10 and the clock says 1h35.
