What's the best brand of CRT for retro gaming? Playing with a PS1 if it matters

Sony, Ikegami, and NEC.
These are pricey though. Just get whatever has composite.

A Sony WEGA. You will appreciate the "then" advanced comb filters for early 3D gaming.

PS1 = any 15khz CRT is good
PS2 = a 31khz CRT with an external deinterlacer to get rid of interlacing flicker
Saturn = same as PS2 however ensure your deinterlacer has near instant res switching between 240p/480i and can linedouble 240p
Xbox = widescreen HD Trinitron for 720p/480p
N64 = literally anything with either composite or svideo, it'll look like shit regardless

Xbox and PS2 might as well be played on a modern LCD.

God I want a television like that so fucking bad bros. No luck with thrift stores recently, gonna try some flea markets next weekend. Why are old woodgrain tube televisions so kino?

They're the best. I used a Sears Roebuck TV much like that all through college. I played 360 on it via RF, it had absolutely fantastic color.

Dont look for brands only, and yes the tubes they use by searching the part number, and its features. The same brand could have top tier and bottom of the line models for the same size screen due to different tubes/features.

more like NEC-Mitsubishi. anything before and after the partnership sucks

Got this for $40, /vr/ bros. I bought a RF transformer for it to play games with, and I only get sound, but no picture. What's the deal?
