Hey /vr/,

I'm REALLY BAD at sonic games. Laughably bad. How do I get better at them?

Please show me any screenshot of Sonic that indicates that the time limit is 10 minutes. The score and ring count do not have leading zeroes and expand as needed, so saying "well clearly it stops at 9:59" is not acceptable.

And you do realize that your Sonic CD example is an argument AGAINST a timer, right?

Well, I'm not too sure about offended. I explained my reasoning and what I meant by my statement. Like I said, I apologize that you or whoever did not understand, or can take any form of criticism apparently. The base argument is Sonic 2 is one of the easiest Sonic games out there. Nothing more. It was geared towards Sonic 2 and not Sonic Advance 2. I've never played the Advance version so I have no idea what it's actually like.

Yeah, be quiet. S2 GG is so much harder and not just because of the screen size, but because they made the bosses harder (except for the seal who they made easier for some reason) but they changed some of the stage layouts to be harder. A lot harder.

Yes.
If you can't be bothered, the worst you'll have to deal with is having to die once and restart at a checkpoint. It's not the end of the world.

>Why not just count down from the maximum time limit like every other goddamn game?
Because the game is designed to encourage finishing the levels as quickly as possible. Not "within 10 minutes."

Since you guys were discussing the timer thing, here's an interesting bit of info:
In Sonic CD, the timer resets to 5'00'' if you time travel (either to past or future), so say you're about to die at 9'50'' but you manage to time travel, it goes back to 5'00''
And running out of time in SCD is very common since usually getting to the past and finding the generator takes time if you're not looking at a map of the level.

For some reason, this timer reset mechanic was taken off the HD remake.
