Yes. I never 100% either game so I can't tell you all the differences, but off the top of my head:

-Two of the female enemy types have different appearances. The "rave" girls with the spiky hair have exposed stomachs and shorter shorts, and the whip wielding women are dressed like hookers.

-A miniboss in the first stage is completely removed in SoR3. Remember how Shiva was driving the boat? Instead it was the extremely gay Ash, who fights you at the end. He's also unlockable as a playable character.

-All the player characters except for Zan had swapped color schemes. Blaze wears red instead of white, for example.

Not just cut, they changed a lot of the gameplay too - SOR3 is impossibly difficult, BK3 is OK (but feels a little too easy). In BK3 you can actually get the bonus stars though.

Also BK3 doesn't have all the graphics fucked up.

Luckily enough I never had SOR3 until emulators - got a BK3 bootleg as a kid.

It's got slightly catchy tunes, it's a fun background distraction for you and bros while wanting to play something but not really wanting to pay attention to it, and it's just fun overall.


it's also got a pink floyd reference in the manual, which is pretty classy.

If it's just so horrible and old you can't stand playing it, try Tecmo World Golf for the ps1. That game is fucking badass.

1) Aladdin was a solid platformer with excellent graphics and presentation. If you were to say average, in terms of gameplay, then that may be understandable. There's nothing awful about it.

2) Fucking retard. Konami created both Contra AND Sunset Riders. Second, the Contra series came out BEFORE Sunset Riders. Imbecile. Contra Hard Corps (Japanese version) is a great game with branching levels, multiple endings, multiple characters, excellent graphics, and very solid gameplay.

3) I don't care much about Sonic games.

4) I agree. I never really liked MK.

5) You're a newb for not mentioning that Sunset Riders on Genesis was inferior to the SNES version.

In terms of gameplay SOR3 is better than BK3. For instance, in SOR3, Skate's level 1 blitz attack can hit immediately, meaning that you can combo into that move. However, in BK3, Skate's level 1 blitz can only hit enemies on the way down, making it unsuitable as a combo ender. Just that one change alone makes Skate a completely different character.

Anyway, SOR3/BK3 is nowhere near as good as SOR2/BK2.

1) The music is atrocious. SOR1 & 2 had some of the best music on the genesis. SOR3 has shitty fucking music.

2) Redirectable jumps. FOr instance, you can jump up then wiggle left-right-left-right like a retard. That shit does NOT belong in a beat'em up

3) Forgettable enemy and boss designs. The enemies and bosses look unappealing in SOR3. However, SOR2 had some fantastic enemies and bosses.

4) The absence of Max. Max is hands down the greatest grappling character EVER to grace a beat'em up. Zan is a decent character (he's actually the strongest character in SOR3) but can he do a jumping downward elbow into an atomic buster? I thought not.

5) Whacked fucking character balance. Why the fuck does Blaze have the strongest throws in the game? Why does she do more damage than Axel on equivalent moves? I guess they were trying to make up for the fact that she was only good for lily white panties in BK2 so they wanted to beef her up. Trust me, only newbs think that Blaze is NOT the weakest character in BK2. The rankings go like this: Axel > Max > Skate > Blaze

The only thing debateable is whether you think Axel or Max is the best.

I view the Aladdin games the same way as I do the Shadowrun ones. Both versions are quite different games and are not trying to copy each other, but they do a good job at what they were trying to accomplish and both versions are worth playing.
