I don't think regulation of the video game industry will yield the things you're thinking of.
If anything, it'll make things worse. You'll have EA throwing lobbyist money so they can get "regulations" that will keep their products in the market while hindering their competition.

You misunderstand how modern lobbying and regulation works.

The regulations do not protect you, they protect the companies already in a position of success. They can't be threatened by failures or displaced by newcomers, hence the industry cannot crash.

This isn't a good thing.
