Someone had to tell me about shooting the sun with the arrow.
Someone had to tell me you can't beat ganon in the castle with light arrows, despite light arrows damaging him.
Nobody told me that ice arrows weren't actually necessary or even useful.
There were others I can't remember.

Maybe some of the clues make more sense in japanese, idk. But as a 13 year old, I got stuck a number of times. Call me a retard all you want, but I never knew anyone as a kid who finished that game without some kind of word of mouth or internet hints.

Iirc in my first playthrough when I was 8 years old in 98 the only thing I fucked up was getting the ice arrows, because I was retarded and used small keys to open doors on both sides of the Gerudo Training Grounds, so I ended up blocking myself from getting them.
Other than that, I managed everything else either by intuition or trial and error, since im an ESL and didnt know any english back then.

I emulated it. Never owned an N64 growing up as I only had a SNES, PS1 and PS2. I did like the game for that short period with it, though. But obviously I have more fond memories with Link to the Past.

When I first booted up the ROM for Ocarina I was incredibly struck by the title theme. Even if I've never beaten it, to this day it's an incredibly nostalgic piece.
