Donkey Kong. Looks like and starts off like it's just a copy of the original arcade game, but becomes an action/platform/puzzle game with tons of levels that is fucking great.

NBA Jam TE is a good port and solid B-ball game, though playing it for very long is painful due to start button being used for Turbo (desu the Game Gear version is the one to get if you have that system, same with Frank Thomas Big Hurt Baseball).

On the subject of baseball, a few good ones there. Nintendo's offering is ok, but Bases Loaded for GB is a solid title (you'll have to try for a bit to get to the ending) and Frank Thomas/All-Star Baseball 99 are pretty good too. There's another one I forget the name of, it's named after a famous 90s pitcher IIRC, and it's pretty good. I haven't played the Griffey games on GB yet, so I can't say if they are good.

Nintendo Golf is fantastic, you'll pull your hair out trying to go under par on the US course. Konami Ultra Golf is also good, but much easier. Namco has one too called Namco Classic (IIRC) and it doesn't seem too bad.

There are some more if you can read Japanese, but I won't mention them here as I imagine most reading are not interested in those titles.

I really wish that Elite for game boy had gone further than just a proof of concept. I would have loved to play that game on the go.

Popn twinbee, the gradius games, lucky luke, batman 1 and 2, cyraid, kid dracula, bonks adventure, bonks revenge, all megaman games including xtreme, castlevania adventure and 2, adventure island 1 and 2, donkey kong, pokemon, kirby, mario land 1 and 2, metroid 2, zelda, mickeys dangerous chase, prehistorik man, smurfs 1 and 3 these are all examples of quality gameboy games

Volley Fire, though I'm not sure I would call it good.
Both Batman games, though I'm not sure how obscure they really are. Same with Bionic Commando, which isn't a port and probably the best version of the game, but Bionic Commando is pretty famous.
