The GBA was definitely powerful for handhelds of the time. Remember what the competition looked like. The only problem I have is the weak audio.

It's clicky, not fidgety. It gives plenty of tactile response to a change in input.

I'd rather just use a regular GBA. Even with that kind of a grip, everything is way too close together.

Dim screen is the lesser issue. Far worse is the difference in resolution. SNES games should've been ported to the DS, not the GBA.

That's true. The DS screen is wide enough for SNES games, but still a little too short. A lot of games would probably fare okay by moving some of the UI to the lower screen though.
A shame the DS is so weak, it would have made a nice little SNES emulator back in the day.

I always kind of wanted a Micro, but at the time I had both the original GBA and a DS, so it seemed pointless. Maybe the Micro is just novelty, but I've always liked how it looked even if it strained practicality.

Its newest hardware component was literally 8 years old at launch, so that just speaks to how bad handheld buyers had been getting shafted at that point in time. It's not really a point in favor of it but a condemnation of the Gameboy.

Portable processors that didn't eat batteries like crack weren't powerful in the 90s. Getting manufacturing scales down below the micrometer level has become a major help. Now we have phones and the Switch running on sub-28nm tech, which is frankly astounding. Plus lithium ion batteries.

The unlight screen on the GBA fat sucks but people overblow how dark it is. Just quit trying to play you games in bed and go to sleep.
