Been replaying Silent Hill 1 on Duckstation, any one knows some good post processing filters? Idk if it needs to be specific to Duckstation or not, I remember some anons talking about some nice filters for old games but I don't remember the name.

Both Mednafen and Duckstation are not that different because both got PGXP. Which is useless for SH because this bugs the game. I play it on ePSXe without bugs or special settings. And you can still use a mod with widescreen hack. Duckstation has no widescreen hack and Mednafen glitches on SH when it's enabled. Playing without PGXP on ePSXe is not a problem, because the twisted graphics were meant to help in the horror experience. I also recommend PCSX-Reloaded. Some say it works better than ePSXe to play SH

Duckstation was meant to look good on high definition screen modern PCs. If you have a CRT a ePSXe will work better, specially if your PC is old

I used mednafen, it has less input lag than Duckstation and my pc can't handle run ahead. If you want I can share my cfg file with the shaders etc.

Either that, or it's one of those great protips they had back in the day of the same caliber as "Use the masterball only for strong pokemon, like Spearow".
At least using anything that really has to do with zodiac signs would have made more sense than the bullshit that it finally became.

I've been getting the Silent Hill itch again lately.
What is the current best way to play SH 2 and 3 on PC? Enhanced Project? Emulating on PCSX2? Wasn't there some infographic on that topic?
Hell, I would buy the PC version if I could even find it in my country.

>> No.7764540

>>7764536
PC versions have always been the best way to play. You just need the fan patches.

>> No.7764551

>>7764536
Adding to what the other anon said, the simplest way to play 1 and 2 would be emulation, and 3 you can just use the default PC version with a widescreen patch if you like. The way the fog is rendered in SH2 on the PC version and the PS2 is different, so it might be preferable to use that if you want convenience. Otherwise the enhanced edition for PC is the best way to go for 2.
