You'd be right gameplay-wise, yes. I enjoy what they did with the graphics though. There's neat little things like the way Mega Man teleports back in and kicks his foot up, and I like how a lot of the stages were realized with more color and shit. A lot of people shit on the music too and I don't know why. The arrangements are all great in Wily Wars without sounding overly "farty" I guess. The same composer did X3 and motherfucking Castlevania. Everyone loves to post the Genesis remixes that are all over YouTube but it's a lot easier to do that and it's not necessarily a representation of what "could have been" or how it should've sounded.

It's really just a product of that era. You're going to find shit that is "objectively worse" in any port or remake or whatever because that was just the nature of consoles at the time. Even as a SNES kid I think it's cool that this game actually exists and that kids, jap and euro kids anyway, actually got to play MM1-3 on a Sega console
