It’s certainly one of the best all-rounders if you could only get one console but honestly I ended up playing my GameCube and Xbox more during the sixth gen. PS2 was mostly relegated to Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill, and a handful of other exclusives. I very rarely bought the PS2 version of multiplats.

Contrarians. PS2 Had fuck loads of great exclusive games, like DMC3, God of War, Twisted Metal, FFX and FFXII, Tekken Tag and 5, Shadow of the Colosus, MGS series, Jak series, Ratchet series, Sly series, fuckloads of 2D fighting games, Silent Hill 3 (rest were nultiplat), literally a dozen or more retro collections, the whole collection of worthwhile PS1 games and more.

I had all 3 consoles (and a dreamcast) and PS2 got the most use by FAR. Though yes, Xbox always had the best version of muliplats. And some Gamecube exclusives were great (All 5 of them) but there's zero comparison.

The N64 never really clicked with me but I adore the GameCube. Same thing happened with the PS2 for me. I absolutely love the PS3 and its library but never quite jived with the PS2.

Yes. Doubly so if you are counting the PS1 library as well.

If you were going to be stuck on a desert island for ten years and you could only pick one console (it's softmodded so you can have the entire library, and the island has a cottage on it with geothermal power) than you would be a fool not to choose the PS2.

XStation is phenomenal, and gives you full access to the greatest console library known to man. PS2 has no ODE yet.
