Who was the bigger draw?

>> No.7744850

Mega Man is more based but Sonic is more redpilled

>> No.7744851

>redpilled
How? The whole freedom fighter idea sounds too woke for me.

>> No.7744853

Sonic, so much more than Mega Man. If Mario is Disney and Sonic is Warner Brothers.....Mega Man is like....Hannah Barbera

>> No.7744865

Megaman took more skill to beat, Sanic is hold right to win for 90% of the level designs. Megaman wins in this case.

So the one with tons of soul that's severely underrated?

>> No.7744873

Mega Man has about...twenty more games I actually like to play.

Better indie comics too.

Sonic is a more recognizable character, especially after that movie.

Have you ever played a classic Sonic game at all?

This, there's a reason Sonic became the favorite franchise of autismal retards. Most of the time it was "hold right, watch lots of flashy things happen on screen".

Robotnik is the most based and redpilled character of all time.

I chuckled. It's cheesy camp, not kino.

Sonic had more staying power (multiple shows, merch, porn) even when his games took a shit when they went 3d.
Megaman was an example of getting it right the first time and sticking with it for pretty much ever while varying stuff up slightly.

Who has the better legacy?

>> No.7744926

It's actually a neat comparison. Everytime Sonic team tried something radically different they'd get shit on for not going back to 'run to the right'.
Anytime Megaman released another game that was more of the same, they got shit on for being stale, and even when X injected life back into the series it was the same just with more speed.

Sonic is still around, Megaman is on life support.

Sonic was always more recognizable, the 90s and 00s all had Sonic cartoons basically at any given time, so even kids who didn't own a Sega console were familiar with him just as some cartoon here, plus the early 90s was Sonic was very popular, arguably the most popular game character for a few years....while Mega Man was pretty much fading away. He had that Ruby Spears cartoon, but I don't remember anyone really caring about it and plus, it aired right when classic MM was pretty much becoming a relic of the 80s and Mega Man X was becoming the games anybody actually played if they even wanted MM at all.

I mean, Mega Man never even got to the level of "slap him on products to sell them" popularity like Sonic did, there were Sonic gum (multiple kinds actually), Sonic Happy Meals, Sonic pasta, etc

>>7744926
It's funny because while the classic series is fundamentally satisfying to play at its core and never had to change anything, the X series went to shit quickly because they felt the need to cram in as much useless shit as they could like all those minigame levels across the latter half of the series and fucking X7.

X5 and onward (and to a lesser extent, X3, but X4 went back to basics) is what happens when you try to innovate, fail, and don't have a plethora of marketing and other merchandise to fall back on.
SonicTeam could release a game about Sonic having to run to the bathroom to take a 5lb chilidog shit and it would still sell enough copies to break even, and the tv/movies/etc would have everyone forgetting about it inside of a month.

You act as if a portion of the fanbase doesn't dream about such a game

Yeah, duh. Everyone shilled Nickelodeon in the 90s and early 2000s (often deservedly), but the Hanna Barbera channel, Cartoon Network, had some of the most memorable and influential shows of all time on it.

Mega Man has a much less degenerate fanbase in general (even though their opinions about which games are good are just as or more retarded), so Mega Man.

Megaman fanbase has lots of pedos, which is just as bad as furfags.

Didn't realize that, I guess. Explains all the soijourno and redditt obsession with Mega Man 2, at least. Also, I thought there was a lot of overlap between furries and pedos.

sonic, megaman was big on the nes and snes but it wasn't on the tier of packin first parties. Outside of capcom's attempt with legends it was relegated to being an A level bargain franchise after the 4th gen.

I mean, wouldn't you say this is true of any anime styled franchise? I don't think it's a problem with Mega Man specifically, just a problem with anything that has an anime art style.
