Are there any games on this that are worth playing? Seems to me all the good games came out on GBA.

Pokemon and Wario. That's about it. It's just a eclipsed by the game boy and GBA on both sides.

There's a pretty good Goemon / Mystical Ninja scotformer on it, but that's about it.

WL3 sucked balls and is the worst Wario game, by the way. Huge downgrade from 2.

It's a Nintendo handheld, so there's always the Mario's, Zelda's, Pokemon's, Kirby's, etc, you're probably familiar with those already, but if you haven't play them yet, it's the perfect place to start.

If you're looking for something besides the usual titles you get from these consoles, to be fair the GBC is one of my least played systems, so i'm not too familiar with many games, but sports is one of my favorites genres, and David O'Leary's Total Soccer 2000 is a damn good game if you're into soccer, so there's that.

Surprising yes. It really does showcase how limited hardware and software can produce amazing results in the right hands. The game boy is full of surprises. Just pick one up. A lot of games are short and can keep you entertained.

That’s not really a fair comparison imo. The GBC was clearly something of a stopgap release in order to revitalize and repackage the aging Game Boy hardware and take advantage of the first gen Pokémon craze.

Tetris DX has a patch that restores the iconic Korobeiniki theme made popular as Tetris Type A.

http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/5564/

Also for your consideration Tetris Rosy Retrospection, a patch for the original GB Tetris that makes it play more like modern Tetris with ghost pieces, hard drops, hold pieces, super rotation, 7-bag random distribution, etc.

https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/5813/

It plays great when you map Select to a shoulder button just for the Hold function.

Gba arguably has the worst library of the gameboy/ds console line. Though it has a few truly great games, id consider it the n64 of handhelds. Its predecessors had a lot more to offer as did its successors, but it still has the big guns like mario vs donkey kong, superstar saga, golden sun, pokemon emerald/frlg, kh chain memories, minish cap, megaman zero, mm battle network, yugioh worldwide edition, etc...
